\"Replaying\" Settings During Silent Install with MSI or EXE

Post by H4nd0 »

I'm trying to find out how I can pass values to the installer during silent installation that override the installation defaults.

For example, installation directory, various answers in dialogs and so forth allowing me to customise a silent install.

Can I create an "answer file" and supply that during the installation process?

Any help or pointers gratefully appreciated.

TIA,

You can provide variable values at the command line as follows:

MyInstaller.exe /s TARGETDIR="C:\\Program files\\my company\\my product" MyCostomVariable=John

Answer files are used with InstallShield.
