Can't install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 without other framework

Post by AKNG »

Hi,

I made a build of my software with only one requirement which is .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. When I installed my software on a clean machine (no framework installed) and this machine running Window XP. While installing, it keep asking me to have .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and 3.0 SP1 installed to be able to install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (7zip created by InstallAware 8). Can anyone tell me how could I get a version standalone of .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 with InstallAware? Thank you.

AK,

P.S.: I did try to download a .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on Microsoft web site and I can install it without others Framework installed.

When you select the 3.51 runtime in InstallAware, it automatically adds all required nested runtimes. If you remove them, of course setup will fail.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

So you mean if I checked the 3.51, the required will nested in the 3.51 package. And during installation, it will install 3.51 as a standalone package? If it's not the case. Please can you tell me how can I do to get the standalone package. Because I did not want to install other frameworks at all during my installation. I just want to install only 3.51 as 1 package (standalone package).

Thank you,

There is no stand-alone package. Even the package you download from Microsoft, if you look at the files it extracts, contains all the other runtimes that InstallAware clearly exposes in the UI. The only difference is InstallAware exposes this information.
