Clearing breakpoints.

Post by bokkie »

In the MSIcode window you can set/unset a breakpoint using F5. Is there a way to clear all of the breakpoints in one go without having to scroll the code looking for them and clearing them individually?

Gosh! I've just been mentioned in despatches for suggesting a product enhancement and I'm only using the evaluation version. :)

I was revisiting this former enhancement request from way back when. Does anyone at IA know if it's still in the in-tray or perhaps it's boarded the plane when the next release takes off?

I mention it because I was in for a long-haul debugging session and I had a lot of breakpoints which were getting in the way of those downstream I was targeting.

Development's lips are pretty tightly locked on revealing what the next release will include. I doubt this will be in there, but I expect many of the usability requests to be implemented after this release, which I understand primarily is intended to update the application architecture so some of the more complicated requests (that aren't necessarily MSI friendly) will be doable.

I have found something of a work-around.

In your project folders, there are these files: *.mia.brk

For the scripts other than your main one, you can just move the .mia.brk files to another folder or delete them.

For the "main" script in your project, breakpoint data is being replicated in the .mpr project file as well. You can edit these with your favorite text editor by removing the lines with only "B" appearing on them.

Just *be careful* and make backups before you go destroying your projects :!:

Hi

I have another suggestions:
- could you make breakpoints more visible (option in settings?) - not just a red coloured text, maybe highlighted text
- indication of breakpoint if you use code folding - you cannot see if there is a breakpoint if folder is collapsed
