Form Title

Post by spbrady »

Hello,

When I start the installer and the first window of the installer is displays, the titlebar of the window displays somthing like My Application - InstallAware Wizard

Is it possible to remove the - InstallAware Wizard and have it say something like My Application - Installation Wizard.

Dont get me wrong, InstallAware is great, I just don't want to see it on the title bar!

Thanks

I also noticed that. I could not seem to find it in the MSI tables. The dialog uses $TITLE$ which when I display it in a message box it displays only the name of the product. I suppose the extra branding text might be added behind the scenes somehow. I'd like to control what gets displayed as well.

I too have nothing against IA. I remember having a bit of a scrap with InstallShield a while back when I wanted to remove the branding at the bottom of each dialog. Eventually they grudgingly gave me some script to do it. :)

As you know, InstallAware doesn't require any custom scripts for removing the bottom of dialog branding. We only keep the title bar. This is not overridable without becoming an InstallAware Technology Partner.

That's fine with me. Product branding is not a big concern in my book. I think InstallShield's argument was that it shows the installation has been assembled using robust software technology. On occasions I was not necessarily convinced about that argument! Given that some packages are installed on 1000's of machines, some free advertising is perhaps understandable. :)
