All of our files just like Crytek files (Same engine) are in .pak (compressed 7zip format) So when the installer is completed there are various folders and compressed .pak files.
Does installaware have the capability to patch compressed files? Such as the ability to decompress the file, add / remove / modify existing files within, then re-compress them back into their .pak compressed format. (Basically if you just take a .zip in standard compression format and rename it .pak it will work.)
For example:
Example.pak
When opened with 7zip contains Folders : Test1 Test2 Test3
Update patch installer adds a readme.txt and a few files to folder Test1
The patcher then decompresses's Example.pak and adds the readme.txt and the few other files to the Test1 folder and then re-compresses the file back into its original "Example.pak" format.
Is the hypothetical example above possible?

InstallAware uses the native Windows Installer patch engine for installing patches, unfortunately what you have described is not supported in this engine. However what you really need is a ZIP plug-in for InstallAware, so you can just script in the exact behavior you have just described.
