Possible to keep original file dates?

When running installs the files that are installed have the created on date be that of the time of the install.
If the installer sets the file dates to the install date, it makes it difficult to trace problems. Can the installer retain the original file dates?

There's a plug-in to help with this - it resets file dates in a folder of your choosing, check that one out.

I think the one Michael is referring to is the one in my attached screenshot. It's in the third-party plug-in installation Mapaz InstallAware Plug-Ins Setup.msi although I can't remember where I downloaded it from.
