Non \"MSI\" Version of Edit INI File

Post by [email protected] »

I noticed that the Edit INI file is a Windows Installer command ... and will be "undone" during an uninstall. Is there a "Direct Execute" version of Edit INI file that is not undone during uninstall. Or a way to make the uninstall NOT undo my INI file changes? Like a "permanent" option?

I know I can use the "Write to Text File", but that will not do things like update an entry.

Thanks!

Only recourse does appear to be Write to Text File or a custom plug-in. Or, of course, read the INI file before calling (Un)Install MSI Setup in your new version ;)

I think the easiest way to preserve an INI File is to make a backup of it before using Apply Uninstall and, after that, restoring it back again. You may use CMD, for instance.
