XP install fails on some machines - 'UAC'

Post by dunion »

Because I'm registering ActiveX controls and want this to install on vista, I request elevated rights. But now on some XP systems the install is failing saying 'this install requires at least UAC elevation to install'. Both machines where I see this failure the logged in user has Admin rights on that PC. This doesn't fail on my test XP box.

Is there something else I need for this to install both on older and newer OS's - I can require the user either have Admin rights or 'run as admin' as an install requirement for the users.

The UAC option checks for the absolute existence of it, so it will fail on OS's earlier than Vista. Just add an extra If End clause around that check so it runs only on Vista or higher.
