Hot to create a new project from an existing mpr file

Post by dave.k »

How do we create a new project using a previous one as a starting point? The reason for the question is we distribute the same basic application to different customers, but with some minor differences in the included files. If you use the Save Project As button, a new project file is created, however it seems to reference the same .mia file, so any changes made to the new project also will affect the old one?
I really don't want to have to create projects from scratch just to accomodate minor differences, surely there's a way to do this.

The "proper way" to do this in InstallAware is via compiler variables. It will end your copy-clone nightmare. However, if you still want to clone, just copy the entire project folder - if you have not moved any script files around inside the IDE, this will clone everything.
