Hi,
I am evaluating InstallAware and I have problem creating a working installation set which does not have any EXE. i.e. I need to create an installation of pure tables (no running program is involved).
Everytime I try run my installation, it says "%1 is not a valid Win32 application", that is it.
Is it possible to use InstallAware to just deploy tables or data files that won't run?
How to create pure data files installation?
I now know the culprit - it is the icon I have added in the ARP section that cause the problem.
I am familiar with icon creation and is aware of what format of exe icon is expected by various ver of MS Windows. Even if incorrect icon format is used, the worse case should be no icon shown - or Windows will use the default unknown file icon...
The "%1 is not a valid Win32 application" error is definitely a silly bug of InstallAware, I suppose it is due to the underlying zip engine they use ...
What a joke
wasting me so much time...

1. We don't use ZIP.
2. We do NOT tolerate rude, unprofessional, or discourteous comments in these official InstallAware forums. This is your only warning - you will be banned in repeat violations.
3. Standard Win32 resource APIs are used for icon injection. You may want to fix your icons instead of blaming InstallAware.
