patching in IA9

Post by aim_pro »

I upgraded my IA from 8 to 9 recently.

When I build a patch for a project which was created in IA 8, I noticed the patch building progress is much longer than before. Finally I found the patch executable file size is around 500Mb. Actually the new features are very small compare to the previous build.

Further, I run this 'huge' patch and got an error which looks like the following:

"The file 'abc' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'xxx'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM or a problem with this package."

My project build mode is CD-ROM uncompressed and it works perfectly before the IA is upgraded to 9.

Any one has any idea about it?

Read the help file section on upgrading from old versions of InstallAware.

You mean Set #LONGCOMPONENTS# to TRUE?

Why should I set it?
I set it as true at the beginning of the code. It doesn't work.

It's a compiler variable.
