Basic UI Install

Post by Ryan »

Hello all,

I am trying to make an install run in basic ui mode. I have created my MSI package using group policy.

However when I run the command

msiexec.exe /i "C:\\Test.msi" /qb

I am still given the normal ui windows. I only want the install progress bar to show. What am I missing?

BTW... msiexec.exe /i "C:\\Test.msi" /qn works and installs with no gui at all.

Thanks
Ryan

You cannot use the basic UI because InstallAware has its own UI bootstrapper. You can implement a basic UI with dialog editing and MSIcode scripting of course, in almost no effort.
