Web media download issue

Post by drewau »

Hi,

One of our corporate clients is having trouble downloading runtimes defined in our installer as Web Media Blocks.
They are able to manually paste the link into IE on the affected machine and download the runtime with no problems.

I created a test project that downloads a runtime using the Download File plugin. In their environment, with the proxy fields empty in the plugin this works but the Web Media Block does not.

Their proxy is setup to "Use Automatic Configuration Script", so they don't enter proxy server and port details, from what I can gather the config script looks after this.

What is the difference with regards to proxy detection between the Download File plugin and Web Media Block?

I would prefer to use the Web Media Block if at all possible.

I'm on IA 9 (Build Moya.052409)

Thanks,

Drew.

I know this probably isn't much help, but all I can say is that the Web Media Block command and the Download File command use the exact same mechanism for downloads...:?

Thanks for the reply Michael.

Is it possible to get a debug copy of the Web Media Block plugin that returns some sort of verbose output? It would assist greatly in troubleshooting this problem.

That is not a plug-in, it is a built-in command.
