Installation Speed
What settings outside of compression are known to slow down installation speed?

Windows Installer is transactional, therefore it will always be orders of magnitude slower than direct file copy (anybody voting for a pure Win32 setup engine for InstallAware?)
On the InstallAware side, there's a few things you can do to accelerate things - enable compiler optimizations (thus reducing MSI processing overhead), and disable rollback and other MSI features (as discussed in the help file pre-defined variables section).
