Uninstall Leaves files

Post by CPSS »

When I do an uninstall of my app it leaves the folder and any files that were added after the app was installed. Is there a way to always delete the folder and everything in it?

Thank you

Not automatically. You can "delete files recursive" and then remove the folder itself with the IA remove folder command, or call kernel32 for it. (since the IA command won't work after "Apply uninstall" afaik

I have the same problem with files created after the install not being removed.

I am using v8 and don't see the 'remove folder' command. Am I missing something?

Even calling 'Delete Files Recursively' does not appear to work. I issue the command before the apply uninstall but I have files leftover.

Thanks for your help, I am looking forward to a clean uninstall.

Ron.

"Remove Folder"? I don't see this command either.

Is there any other internal command that would do the trick?

Thanks in advance.

Call Delete Files Recursive before Apply Uninstall or Delete Files before Apply Install.

Please read the help file topic "Setup commands preceding Apply Uninstall" for a detailed discussion.

Wait a minute... unlike the original "Delete Files", "Delete Files Recursive" is a non-Windows Installer command provided by InstallAware, which can be called in any section of my script, right?
