I am trying to create a patch that is a single executable file through the command prompt.
The command I am running is as follows:
miabuild.exe "C:\\Projects\\foo.mpr" /b=3 /o="C:\\foo"
This ends up creating an Upgraded Package folder inside my Patch folder with several files. However, creating a patch from inside InstallAware creates a single desired file inside the Patch folder.
I noticed that Installaware is running makecab after the patching process.
What am I missing?
Thanks
Ryan

It looks like your command line build is failing - what is the output of the build process?

aww I did get an error!
Error during build: Unable to create patch database [TargetImages.Target = 'Target1': PackageCode <''> is not unique.
However, I do not get this error when building out of InstallAware.

The command line build engine will error out only starting with InstallAware 9, so in previous versions, always trust the IDE compile result.
