MSDE to SQL express 2008

Hello,
I need help.
how can I update a MSDE Instance with a SQL express 2008 plugin in Installware 9.0
Another question is, if I got more than one programm that is using MSDE, is there a possibility that I can update only one instance to SQL Express 2008 and leave the one from the other programm in MSDE?
If somebody knows if and how, I really would appreciate if you would let me know.

Just swap to the MSIcode view and script it all in

that means without the plugin or can i work with the "Install SQL EXPRESS" command
