Not sure if this can be worked around or if I am missing something very obvious in the help/commands but I have an install that requires a InstallShield based Setup.exe be run before going on to the end of the script.
My problem comes in with the "Wait for Program to Finish" check box. The issue is that once the Setup.exe fires off, it fires a secondary installer process, in this case "_INS5576._MP" which is the InstallShield driver installation proceeding and then Setup.exe drops out. This causes the script to go on while the Setup I need to run is still running.
My first try at resolving the issue was to create a Label, a Check for Process and If-Gotolabel loop. Essentially I created a loop that waited until the _INS5576._MP process was no longer active before proceeding in the script. The problem with this fix is that it spawns a viscious process loop that pegs my installer at nearly 100%.
Is there a way to "Pause" for say 5 seconds between checks to prevent the processor pegging and/or a way to wait for the secondary installer process to finish before going on?
Thanks for any help.
\"Wait for\" or \"Pause\"
Well after some more research I found the answer to my problem. By inserting a Call DLL to Kernel32.dll, Function Sleep and value 5000 I was able to pause for 5 seconds between loop checks.
This solved the issue and allowed for the secondary process to finish before I went on.
Oh well, maybe this will be helpful for someone.
