Install Driver for USB-Devices

Post by Daniel26 »

Hello,

I evaluate Installware cause we want to build a setup which installs a small application and two Drivers for a USB-Device.

For the two drivers, I created two features. For each feature I created a folder and put the .inf and .sys-File in it. Then, I configured the .inf-Files for each Feature in the drivers-tab.

Can I choose the order of the driver-installation-process? (Driver one before driver two or vice versa)

I tried to install that package (for testing without the application, only the drivers). The dialog about unsigned drivers appears and I allowed to install the driver. But this dialog was shown only one time (should it be two times? one for each driver?). And there was no driver installed, but setup reports no error.

Can anybody help me here?

Regards

Hi Daniel,

Please check the script logic (MSI Code) of your project; you can finely tune the execution of it there.

Is there anywhere a Tutorial how to install USB-Drivers with installaware?
I tried it, I get the dialog about non-certified driver etc.
But when I plug in my device I'm asked about the location of the drivers.

Regards

Daniel
