Hi there,

Yes this is certainly possible.

You will need to create a new dialog for the user to enter the value, as well as create a variable to receive the value entered.

Then simply double click the input control on the dialog, and set the relevant options ("Writes Value To Variable").

Thanks Andy!

One more question please.... how about if the dialog requires to accept the name of the main database and other few databases as well.....where the user need to enter the values for each of the db in the same dialog box itself and all this db eventually will be stored in the sql server.... I've already set the variables for each of the db name....what I want to know here is what settings should I do in order to store all the db which is entered by the user into the sql server???

Thanks in advance...

Hi Serina,

You will need to either:

- Build a plugin to connect to the SQL server to save the information

OR

- Build an SQL script within your setup process which you can run against the SQL Server using any of the standard SQL functions included.
