I'm currently using InstallAware Studio 9, and I don't see any "do not overwrite existing registry value" option.
How do I write a registry value only if no value exists?
Do I need to use MSICode?

You will need to use MSI Code, and add a read registry before the write (and not carry out the write if the read was successful).
