When you are prompted to select you install path you can add characters such as (" | \\ / : * ? < >). In doing so this brings up message 'Invalid Command Line argument. Consult the Windows Installer SDK for detailed command line help.' This Issue will not make sense to our users and it exits our installation.
Are there systems in InstallAware that would allow me to disable the use of those symbols in the install path?
Using obscure characters in Install Path.

This is the error message appearing. This one only happens when you use the " character.
But my actual question was can we put a system into the installer so that when you are enter these symbols (" | \\ / : * ? < >) it would not allow you to advance through to the next screen of the installer or not even allow those symbols to be entered into the install path. Like the way Windows has a pop up when trying to use these symbols as a folder name.
Hmm - the problem is that the way the dialogs are designed, embedding this logic would not be possible in the GUI itself -- the panels are simply GUI objects, with no logic in them -- all the logic is handled in the MSI Code.
What you would need to do is modify your script to detect the presence of invalid characters AFTER a user hits next, but prevent them from moving on.
