Uninstalling a service

Hi there,

I could install a service successfully during installation process but i just wonder how couldn't I uninstall/delete the service during uninstallation process. I've applied 'Control Service ........ : stop and delete on install' before Apply Uninstall but then the service is still not being removed/deleted from the services.

Can anyone please help me to configure this out...??

Just to let know that I'm using InstallAware v9 to create this setup. I've read a number of related post with the similar problem that I'm facing...but all that issues seem not to have a proper solution on how to overcome this problem. Please...can someone please come up on how to uninstall a service successfully in IA v9 ???

Really need to know asap....

Hi, Serina!

You should use stop/delete the service during Uninstall before Apply Install, not before Apply Uninstall. So you're telling MSI that you need to stop and delete the service when the uninstallation of you application will start. This is a part of installation, so when uninstall procedure will start all the info will be on the MSI database.

Yes..it does helped me out!!

I should placed the stop/delete the service during Uninstall before Apply Install instead of Apply Uninstall. Thanks for your feedback ALive!!
