passing parameters from install command line to vbscript.

Post by imfriend4u »

Here is my problem:

I need to run an VBScript to install TCP/IP printer ports with IP as parameter.
Script I made works fine, as example AddPrnport.vbs 192.168.0.25, with IP Address as parameter.

Now, how to make msi package with "PrnIPAddress" parameter and pass it to the VBScript?
How to make "silent" install?

I want to use prnIPAdress parameter from setup like...

setup.exe /parameter=192.168.0.25

As you see, im completely new, and need help.
Thank you in advance

You can read the arguements supplied to your installer in your MSI Code - this is detailed in the help guide and also on these forums.

To execute your vbscript, I would actually parse it through the windows script host system -- please look at the Run Program and Run Program As MSI Code commands.
