Previous Version Uninstallation Problem

Hi,

Using IA Studio 8.

My installation also has the version number in the title of the project. I have a release of the product called 'Product 1.0.0' and the next one would be 'Product 1.0.1' and they have the same Product Code. Using the (Un)Install MSI Setup plugin, before installing Product 1.0.1 I am uninstalling Product 1.0.0. The problem is that Product 1.0.0 entry in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\Product 1.0.0) is left behind, even if the rest of the uninstallation is performed correctly.

Any reasons for this? Any hints?

You are changing the Title.

You should not change the title if you are keeping a common product code, as this breaks a LOT of the MSI engine functionality.

If you want to display a version, I would create a seperate Version variable, and modify your dialogs to show that too.

Yes, I am changing the title. I've came to the conclusion that there is no solution for this, which is a bit sad. After all, the entry in the Add/Remove Programs should be deleted as part of the uninstallation and a new one should be created.
