Web Install - Retry Download Dialog

Post by joakes »

I have an installer that I suspect is erroring out on the download of the SQL 2008 Express web module.

It keeps prompting to resume the broken download or download a new copy of the data instead.

All the other modules download and install just fine.

How can I tell exactly which module its failing on, and most of all - what filename its looking for?

I've compared the web media blocks to the filenames so ensure that they all exist in the correct (same) folder and are spelled exactly alike.

HELP! I'm completely stuck on this and have been for a few days.

First off, check your server is able to deliver the files (Do they open in Internet Explorer?).

Try removing any spaces.

Check for missing or double slashs in the paths.

Then try logging your installation and see if that gives you any more information.

Yes, all of the other files deliver. I've already removed spaces, and parenthesis from all the names.

Its just one file failing and I don't know which one but I've confirmed they are all there.

How do I turn on the logging?

Okay, I figured out how to turn on logging by using setup /l:filename.txt

However, it does create the file but there is nothing in it except for a number of xml type tags with no data whatsoever.

What now? We're stuck!

Can you make sure that all your blocks (both in script and generated) are all lower case?

Failing that, can you submit your project for testing (please use the support system).
