InstallAware 9 is Crashing

Post by Tiago »

Hi there, IA people.

For two times in the last few months I have faced the problem of having IA9 crashing on my computer, specially when I'm debugging my scripts. This is how it happens: I click on the Debug button and IA takes about 2-3 minutes to execute the first line from my script and when it reaches the the last one, the crash is complete. When that happened, I checked the Windows TaskManager to see what was happening and found out that the miae.exe proccess was consuming about 300MB of memory (huge amount!) and this number just kept on growing and growing.

This is the second time this memory leak happens and the only solution available seems to be formatting the computer, since reinstalling IA didn't fix the problem in any way. One strange thing is that on other computers IA runs as expected without any excessive delays. Is there anything I can do or check in order to help you to detect and fix this issue? By the way, I'm using Windows XP and my computer is a Pentium 4 2.8GHz with 1GB RAM.

Thank you very much.

Wow, that does appear to be a significant leak!

Can you email us your complete proeject so we can investigate?

Hi, Neillans.

Not sure if this leak is directly related to the project, but sure I can send it to you! How can I do that? Is there any other to do that than using support tickets?

Thank you!

I'm afraid projects should be sent via the support system so that we don't loose track of them ... or if you email it to me at [email protected] I'll log it internally :)
