How set icon for each build type?

Post by AKNG »

Hi everyone,

I create 3 version of a product (Release, Trial and Demo) and I have 3 icons to associate with each version. I would like to know if there a way to set an icon for each build type?

Thank you,

Which icon are you looking to change? Your shortcut icon? If so, yes, but you would need to modify the MSI Code to correctly identify your product version, and set the Create Shortcut parameters appropriately.

Hello neillans,

The icon that I want to set for each build type is the installer icon. When I create an installer for each version. And for each msi, I would like to associate with the icon automatically in the msi code.

Thank your for your help

Afraid you an not change the Installer icon itself from within itself :)

You can only change the Installer icon BEFORE building the installation package.

Hi neillans,

This is what I did already. But it will be cool if we can change the icon in the code depending of each type of build.

But thank you very much for your time. :)

Is this feature available now? Can we set the installer icon(the one under Design/Add Remove programs) during the build?

Dear user,

Actually it is not.

Alternatively the icon file must be copied manually to the project folder, so a manual override is possible.
