Runtime error: '' is not a valid integer value

Post by KByington »

We have built a setup that works everywhere we attempt to install it: Windows XP, Vista, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server.

One of our clients gets this message every time they attempt to install:

'Welcome to the InstallAware Wizard for $TITLE$'

Line 189: '' is not a valid integer value

Line 189 in our MSI code writes a registry entry:

Write Registry Key HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\NetRate Systems, Inc.\\Commercial Lines\\AllLines\\DataSource, $TARGETDIR$

We are stumped. We have no idea what might cause this error as the install works perfectly everywhere we use it, but our client cannot install.

Any ideas?

Can we have some more information :)

What platform is your client installing on, what permissions do they have, and what version of IA is your project built with?

Do you have a log file from your client?

Thanks for the response.

Newly provisioned server...

SQL Server 2005 Standard tried both unpatched and SP2
Logged in as local Administrator
No other software installed.

Where is the log file?

You will need to enable logging when you start your setup; please have a look at the Logging page in the help file for details on using this feature.
