Difference in piking up the targetdir for a patch since ia 9

Hello,

We have recent updated to installaware 9
Due to some problems with patching when we started to use ia we used to display the original targetdir to the user in a dialog.

in ia8 the original targetdir was picked up before the userinterview.

in ia9 the original targetdir is picked up after the userinterview and just before installation starts. Can you tell me if this assumption is correct.

Nope, I'm afraid to say your assumption is not correct.

The defintion of the targetdir is purely handled in MSI Code, and is not an integrated part of the runtime -- and you usually define the default targetdir before the interview stages.
