Hi there,

In IA 9, how can I search for a registry entry and set a property = its value?

I'm hoping one can do this and then use the property values to pre-populate controls on dialogs during subsequent installs/updates that may be run. ??


.... What I've done is created my dialog control, placed a Read Registry action in the Define Setup Globals region of the MSICode, and sequenced my new dialog. Now, right before the Display Dialog action I would like to set the .text property of my control to the value of the Property storing the reg value. ?? Possible?

On your custom dialog, set the .text property of the control to the variable that will hold the data from the registry.

for example:
Read Registry HLKM\\..\\..\\TestValue into REGVALUE

on your custom dialog, set the control property to $REGVALUE$
