SQL Server 2008 pre-requisite question

Post by Bar_BQ »

Hi,

I got a question about SQL Server 2008. After it is installed, when I open SQL Server Installation Center and click for example on "Upgrade from SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005" option I get sucha a message box: "Browse for SQL Server 2008 Installation Media" - where should I point to to get this worked?

Please clarify your source ... :)

Is this an SQL 2008 Express instance that you have installed through an InstallAware installer?

Ok, in order for this to work, the SQL installer is going to want to be pointed at the cached copy of the original installer ... now, depending on your setup type and variable settings, this might not already be available on the machine.

I would advise investigating the OVERRIDECACHE variable.
