InstallAware - BDE alias - not installing

I can't find anywhere how to make InstallAware install a database alias.

I replaced the idapi32.cfg file with one that includes the alias. Apparently that one did not get installed. The default one did instead. No alias.

InstallShield used the file BDEmerge.ini which includes the required alias. Is there anyway to do something similar with InstallAware?

I've looked through all the FAQs, and tips, and installed the rtm file to create the barebones BDE. But none of those deal with installing an alias.

Help please.

Problem not so much solved, as circumvented.

I use a TSession to install the alias when the app starts up for the first time. If the alias exists, there is no change.

Pity that InstallAware can't handle the dear old InstallShield BDEmerge.ini - or equivalent.

But it does behave better on Win 7.
