Detect client's computer is XP3 or not.

Post by dchen »

Hi !

Can anyone tell me how to detect client's computer is xp3 or not?
I need a prerequisite script or others to tell if client's computer is xp3 or not.
It's better that it can return the value in a flag.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Please take a look at the Get OS or SP Level MSI Code command.

Hi there!

How can I detect if my computer is running under Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home?

Thanks!

Get System Settings contains fields for detecting tablet PC, media center functionality - but none for home edition detection.

Should still be possible to do via Read Registry - just need to determine a Microsoft key where that's recorded.

Thanks for the info, Michael! :)

Seems it will take some additional research, though.
