Hi all,
Try as I might, I can't seem to get either "pin to start menu" or "pin to taskbar" to work. I have tried installing on a few systems, one XP and two Windows 7 Premium machines, and none are pinning anywhere. Below is my code. Presumably it's the 0|X7 line that contains the options.
Create Shortcut $SHORTCUTFOLDER$\\Helpdesk to $TARGETDIR$\\Helpdesk.exe, Pin to Start Menu, Pin to Taskbar
~InstallAware Clipboard Data~
~Create Shortcut~
~{6F9C2AF9-7F84-48D0-9086-8934DD2F84F9}~
~$TARGETDIR$\\Helpdesk.exe~
~Helpdesk~
~$SHORTCUTFOLDER$~
~~
~~
~~
~~
~~
~0|X7~
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

First report we've had of this since release, its been three quarters without incident on this item
I'm quite curious, can you right-click on the shortcut you create to the application, and check if it offers a "pin to" menu item in Windows itself?

Hello,
Windows7 prevents programs from pinning to taskbar when they contain several keywords like "help" in the filename of internal description.
See: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... aspx#which
When you want to let the installer pin an icon to taskbar the "AppUserModelID" of the link has to be set to another value. How can I set this value in InstallAware?
Regards,
Michael

Re: Pin to Taskbar not working
You have to set that within your application, not InstallAware.

Re: Pin to Taskbar not working
In case this issue was related to an AppID setting on your shortcut(s), the Create Shortcut command in InstallAware 9 R2 has now been extended to support this property.
