EditFile Plugin link not working

Post by marcra »

I am trying to get the updated plug in for IA9 but the link http://www.installaware.com/forums/olda ... lugins.exe just returns me to the IA home page. Is there a problem or has this file moved? Is there anywhere else I can get this plug-in.

We are just finishing a IIS site installer and need to edit the web.config file to reflect the installation paths in the XML. The EditFile plug is is eactly the what we need, but the versions hosted do not work for IA9 and as above, the link for the IA9 version update does not work anymore.

If anyone has any other suggestions workarounds on how to edit the web.config in the installer package, please let me know.

Thanks in advance
MRA

The latest version on the support downloads version 3.1.0.2005 is giving 'Error during build: Failed to compile plug-in action: EditFile'. Searching the forum suggest that I need a later version, but they all point to the link that does not work (as per previous post)

The links it seems were affected by our recent upgrade to phpbb3.
We're working to get them fixed.

Have new EditFile plugin links been posted?

I downloaded EditFile plugin today and when I compile I get the error:

Failed to compile plug-in action: EditFile.

What can we do?

Thanks for your help!

I was having the same problem a few days ago. The installer for the plug-in is somewhat buggy.

Here's what I did to get it going:

Completely uninstall the EditFile plugin via the control panel.

Download the latest version via the link above.

Close ALL windows.

Run the installer.

That did it for me - the key was I had some windows open (like IE). Once I shut down everything else during installation of the plugin, I no longer received the compiler error.

That won't be a solution to your problem. I have re-uploaded the file. Try this updated URL:

http://www.installaware.com/Camelot-Ins ... lugins.exe

And everything will just work as it was meant to!

The file is correct, but I guess some ISPs are causing trouble due to caching. So I have renamed the download:

http://www.installaware.com/Camelot-Ins ... Proper.exe

Enjoy!
