Guys, this is not a problem.
I've installed IA9 R2 and I've got an icon to run it on my desktop so all's fine. When I select it and right-click I don't get the option to pin it to my Win 7 taskbar. Yet, other icons on my desktop are pinnable. Does anyone know why I can't pin my IA icon?

Re: Can't pin to taskbar.
InstallAware 9 R2 now supports the AppID property for shortcuts. The IDE now has its own AppID defined as well. The setup will automatically pin the latest and greatest shortcut, including the AppID, to the taskbar. This is not the desktop shortcut but the shortcut in the Start Menu program group. So this is all done for you - I guess if the pin is not showing, you manually removed it, and then tried to re-pin the wrong shortcut without the AppID. Perhaps that is the issue?

Michael, I don't pretend to understand fully what you wrote but assuming I had undermined the desktop icon somehow, I promptly deleted it. I was able to pin the miaa.exe file and that's now on my taskbar. I'll review what you wrote again later but all is now well again!
