Data folder path structure when using uncompressed Setuptype

Post by Frank Jona »

Hi,

when using the uncompressed setuptype and installing services the structure of the data folder looks like (Drive)_dir1\\subdir\\subdir\\subdir\\subdir. An example is attached. If we're trying to copy the installation folder to another destination, it could be that the max. path length exeeded.

The long path only exits for the executables which are used in the services.
Any suggestions?

It seems that nothing has changed so far. I'm using IA9 R2 and it shows the same behaviour. It doesn't look neat. Also, it seems to be a small security breach. In my case, the path contains my windows username, so every user of the installer can know it.
The paths also appear in compressed output. If you uncompress the exe with 7zip you'll get the same structure.
