Patches...

Post by ChrisN »

Hi.

We have the following problem. For example version 1.0 of a software is installed and there are 3 patches for this version. The first one updates v1.0 to v1.1, the second one v1.1 to v1.2 and the third v1.2 to v1.3. Now, if you have not installed patch 1 and 2 and you want to update to the newest version you need to download and install all three patches.

My question: Is it possible to download and install more than one patch at once? Or do you need to check for updates after every patch installation?

Best regards.

Yes, you can indeed serve more than one patch for each version. So mark all patches cumulatively for each version as necessary.

You can also build cumulative patches though (patches that support more than one older version), by adding in all desired old versions as patch references.
