Problem with SQL Server Plugin Connecting to 2008

Post by CVINAL »

Our installation script creates and configures a database and works very well except if it is run on a machine that has SQL 2008 installed on it. Note that the script itself works fine against the sql 2008 server. My guess is that it has something to do with the native sql drivers that the sql plugin uses.

For example, if I run the installation routine on any machine that does not have SQL 2008 on it, and then in the installation process I choose a (remote) SQL 2008 server to create the database on, the installation works fine. The install routine only fails if the machine the installation is being run on (regardless of where the database server is) has SQL 2008.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as quite a few of our clients have moved to SQL 2008 and we no longer can get the installation to work.

I am using version 9 R2 with a build dated 050510.

Thanks,

Charlie

Did you read the sticky:

That might help with connection issues; my guess is installing SQL 2008 changes something on your system and blocks some kind of network access.

Also you can try the Alternate SQL Server plug-in and see if that helps:
