Hi,
I have a problem with UNC paths in my setup. I'm creating some predefined shortcuts in the start menu that call my application with some commandline arguments. On of this artgument is a UNC-Path (\\server\share\file.txt). The UNC-Path doesn't work after the installation as IA crops the first Backslash and the result "myapp.exe /d \\server\share\file.txt" gets "myapp.exe /d \server\share\file.txt" which doesn't work. I tried to workaround this with the use of "Replace" but it doesn't work for me. Is there any workaround?
Thanks in advance,
Sven
Backslash cropped in UNC-Path
Re: Backslash cropped in UNC-Path
O.K., I found a workaround:
Nevertheless, I think this is a bug. It's cool that IA filters inadvertently added slashes from paths but the special case: "double slash in the beginning" should be respected.
- create a variable $TEST$ that holds the servername with slashes -> $TEST$="\\server"
- set this variable again with additional Slahes -> TEST=\\$TEST$
- use this variable with additional slashes in the arguments -> \\$TEST$\share\file.txt
