I am new to InstallAware. I have the below code:
DEFINE REGION: Check Application Requirements
Set System Setting Language (Numeric) into OSLANGUAGE
Set Variable LANGUAGE to ENGLISH
if Variable OSLANGUAGE Equals 1036
Set Variable LANGUAGE to FRENCH
end
if Variable OSLANGUAGE Equals 1031
Set Variable LANGUAGE to GERMAN
MessageBox: $TITLE$, $LANGUAGE$ ==> Messagebox Appears with empty string
end
MessageBox: $TITLE$, OS CODE, $OSLANGUAGE$
MessageBox: $TITLE$, Lang, $LANGUAGE$
...
I have built the Translations needed for the German and French. But this piece of code is sometimes working and sometimes not. I started assuming that this might be an issue in the InstallAware product. Has anyone faced this kind of issue ? I appreciate if someone shares one's experience on the same.
Thanks,
Narayana
Unable to Set the Language Variable.
Re: Unable to Set the Language Variable.
Hi Narayana,
If you're not using the latest version of InstallAware, you might find that setting the compiler variable LOCMODE to NEWONLY in the Project Settings will provide a fix.

Re: Unable to Set the Language Variable.
Hi, Thanks, I added the Language Translations for all the languages and imported those translations into the project support files with the naming conventions license.<LANGUAGE>.rtf. This worked for me. The issue i had was due to the missing translations.
Steps i Followed:
1. Project Locale
2. Create Translations Strings.
3. Choose languages to generate strings for.
4. Import the translations into the Project->Support Files
5. Add the license.<LANGUAGE>.rtf files for each language that was selected in the translation process.
6. Build Single file, use the same file to install on all different language os'es.
This worked fine for me.
Thanks,
Narayana
