Let's say I have a single EXE application that uses 2 INI files.
One is the application INI where the EXE expects to find here: CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA\ApplicationName\ApplicationName.ini
One is the user INI where the EXE expects to find here: CSIDL_LOCAL_APPDATA\ApplicationName\ApplicationName.ini
Several questions come to mind.
1) Does InstallAware have default system variables with these root locations (CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA and CSIDL_LOCAL_APPDATA (not the roaming one))
2) If I install default INI files and then the user updates them via the options / user customize in the application will they revert back to what they were due to being installed with the installer?
3) If I install default INI files will they uninstall (even if contents have been changed over time) when I uninstall the application?
I think that is it.

User Data and Program Data (at install or not)
Re: User Data and Program Data (at install or not)
1) You can use the Get Folder location to find equivalents to the CSIDL you want.
2) Once files are installed, they aren't manipulated (by the installer) again until an installation or repair/modification is instantiated.
3) There is an option to mark files as permanent, so that you can control whether they will persist after an uninstall or not.
