human readable txt file in ver9

Hi,
very usefull feature when I need to find differences between two project versions.
But it is only text dump of project files or there is any way to restore project files from this text format?
Do I need to keep in repository project files or txt is sufficient?

The human readable files do not contain any project information and therefore cannot be re-opened inside the IDE.
