Hi, I'm evalutating your software after an experience with the Setup builtin visual studio 2008.
I have only one question about the .NET framework.
In VS2008 I can build the setup files without including the whole framework and setting as prerequisite ask to user to download ONLY if necessary.
In your application I can select the "Application Runtimes" but I'm not able to find the option for not to include in the final setup file.
Where I can find the option?
Thanks
Alessio

Re: .NET framework
In the Design view, either click the Deploy button in the banner (it has an up arrow with "010" in the icon). Or, under the Deployment folder on the left, click on Web Media Blocks.

Re: .NET framework
I already try to select in that form "do not build" option in
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1
Microsoft JSharp Runtime 2.0
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 with Service Pack 2
and leave the build in:
MyProject
Microsoft XML Parser 6.0
Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1
Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 (BTW are both necessary for deploy on Xp/Vista/W7 platforms?)
But if I browse the sfx file with winrar I still find folders in DATA regarding those assemblies and my setup is 76Mb vs the 11Mb of the VS2008 installer.

Re: .NET framework
Are you building a web-deploy setup?

Re: .NET framework
I build a single file setup because I don't want people have to connect to internet for further download.
Usually they have the .NET framework already installed.

Re: .NET framework
I think your question should be answered by this whitepaper:
http://www.installaware.com/webaware_in ... nology.pdf
Let us know if not.
Basically, it sounds like you will want to use web deployment for what you want. Everything that appears in OFFLINE CONTENT will be distributed with your base setup and everything you want online will appear in other media blocks...
