Previous version installation gives fatal error

Hi,

I have my products previous version as 7.0.1, and the new version is 7.0.2, I have two issues in this scenario:

1) previous version entry from ARP not removed.

2) very important issue is that, after installing and uninstalling version 7.0.2, when I try to install 7.0.1, installer is giving me fatal error, when I run my project in debug mode, it is giving no error message except the fatal error, this error occurs while setup try to copy the files.

Do the upgrade codes between your products match? For what you mention, it sounds like you would want the product and upgrade codes to match, but the revision code to differ between the two projects. The upgrade code can be found in the project settings dialog.

Did the 'uninstall previous version' appear before/while installing the new version?

To find out more about the fatal error, you can run the setup from command prompt like:

> setup.exe /l=C:\log.txt

A log will be generated which should contain some info about that error.

Can you uninstall the old version from ARP?

I hope you are testing this in a test environment. You may need to search the registry for the product code and delete references to it.
