Create IIS Site problem

Post by xiaosu »

Hi,

I got a very simple web site with only one html page (for testing purpose). I want to create an installation file for this little web site.

My problem is:

after I install it, it does create a new website and a web application with virtual directory listed in IIS 7 Manager. BUT the site binding is set to https, not http by default. It always gives me something like https://localhost/TestSite.

If I manually delete that https binding and add http binding, it seems to work.

My question is: In InstallAware, where can I set the binding to http or https?

I am using v10.10.

Thanks a lot.

Dear xiaosu,

As I look into this I would advise you to do the following as a work-around:
After you create your site (and after you made sure that you are running a IIS 7), "Run Program $WINDIR$\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe"
With the following parameters "set site /site.name: YOURSITE /+bindings.[protocol='http',bindingInformation='*:80:']" where YOURSITE is the name of your site.

Please let me know if that helped.

Thanks!

Dear InstallAware users,

We recently came across several issues regarding IIS 7. Those issues have been fixed. Please regenerate your license, install it, and those issues should be resolved. The fixes were only made to the setup engine, hence they wont apply to debugging inside the InstallAware IDE. They issues that have been fixed are:
1) The SSL empty bindings issue has been fixed
2) The TCP binding issue (not being able to bind to a TCP port) has been fixed
3) The Get IIS Site Index command has been fixed
4) The Get IIS Property command now returns !ERROR! instead of gibberish when passed invalid parameters

Thank you for your patience. We truly appreciate your business.
