Hi,
I just used IA10 to build a setup file that compiled on win 7. The building machine is win7. The building and test installation are ok on win 7 machine. The setup file can be installed on a XP machine not load it. I did check the minimum OS to XP. My application needs .Netframe work 4.0, and a third party file installed. I did have .Netframe work 4.0 checkbox ticked off.
Can anyone give me some clue where I should start to investigate? I am using IA10 express.
Thanks in advance!
Gene
Build on win7 doesn't work on XP.

Dear Gene,
Could you explain what you mean by this: "The setup file can be installed on a XP machine not load it"?
What exact error are you receiving?

Re: Build on win7 doesn't work on XP.
Hi,
The setup file can run on XP machine and get the application installed. When I run the application, it pops up "ApplicationName has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Something saying "Please tell Microsoft about this problem" and "Send error report" button and "Don't send" button appear.
That is what I mean by saying "The setup file can be installed on a XP machine not load it".
What can I go further from there?
Thanks!
Gene.

Re: Build on win7 doesn't work on XP.
Dear Gene,
Well, that means that there is a problem with your application. If the setup was successful, it looks like there isn't a problem with InstallAware.
