Remove Installer from Control Panel after an Install

Post by penfold »

Hi,

Is there a way of removing the install from control panel, such that it can be run a second time from the source, after an installation has been run?

we need to extract some files from the installer, easy, just set file to perminantly required, apply install, and finish.. but we need to not have the installer shown in the control panel so we can run another instance of the install from else where?

Regards

Dear Steve,

I do not entirely understand what you are trying to do. Could you please elaborate?

Hi,

Ok I think I have got this working now, appreciate its a bit strange;

I am allowing the installer to install two files with the perminant flag set, such that the correct files are extracted to the user. i.e
run the installer as is. After the apply install, in the script I am then running apply uninstall under this condition, and the files are left around and the installer is not shown in control panel due to the immediate uninstall, and due to the uninstall the installer can be re-run as normal.

So I think this is working for us now.
