My installation is creating the root folder for features that have not been selected during setup, although no files are installed, just the root folder. These features are correctly installed if selected for install.
I have four features, A,B,C,D. Features B and C always get installed during the Personalized Setup, however, the root folder always gets installed and the files for those respective folders only get installed if those features are selected. In other words, whether I select feature A or D, the root folders for B and C always are created, although no files are installed. If I do select features B or C to install, all the files are installed correctly. So it is sort of working but these folders should not be created if I select to only install A or D.
When I added files to the project I am using the "Filter Files by Feature" option and this seems OK. I remove and re-added to make sure.
I am using V. 10.10 and the Classic Dialog theme.

Empty Feature Folders
Re: Empty Feature Folders
Dear James,
Since this only happens with some of the features, I am guessing that you did something wrong in creating them.
Please create a new setup from the Basic Setup template and create 4 features that install 4 different files in 4 different folders (Feature A: A/a.txt and so forth).
If you are still encountering a problem with the new project, please send it over to support at installaware.com
Thanks!

Re: Empty Feature Folders
Thanks Giaviv,
I created a new test project with the four features. I create a new system folder $ALLDOCUMENTS$ for the Target Folder with my proper Filter Files by Feature selected each time I create the new system folder and add files to them. However, I am still getting the exact same result as my original project, i.e., I select to only install feature A or D and the empty folders for B and C are still created.
I'll elevate if you have no further ideas.

Re: Empty Feature Folders
Dear James,
I looked at your project. You "hard-coded" the folders, which is why the get installed all the time.
Instead, consider physically creating these folders on your disk and installing the folders themselves (instead of adding the folders in InstallAware)
